Notes

Scheduled hours are the total number of daylight hours in the month, except for occasional periods when the CO2 was deliberately turned off for specific scientific objectives.
Operating hours are the scheduled hours when the CO2 exposure system was functioning properly.
The percent operating is the operating hours divided by scheduled operating hours, averaged across 6 CO2 rings.
On-site users are the number of principal investigators and co-investigators who were physically present at the FACE site in the given month. The tally does not include investigators analyzing samples or data from the site in their home laboratory. Multiple visits by single investigators for a given month are considered a single user.

The Aspen FACE Experiment is funded principally by the U.S. Department of Energy's Office of Biological and Environmental Research. Additional support is from the USFS Global Change Program, Michigan Technological University, the Canadian Forest Service and the USFS Northern Research Station.
For more information on this project, contact Dr. Andrew J. Burton (Michigan Technological University) at (906) 487-2566 or mailto:ajburton@mtu.edu, or Dr. Mark E. Kubiske (North Central Research Station) at (715) 362-1108 or mailto:mkubiske@nrs.fed.us.
